One of the most advanced timepieces, this watch is made after five years of research and development. Set in the Roger Dubuis Excalibur case, this beautiful, yet mechanically complex, watch features four accurately positioned balance wheels one in each quadrant of the watch, each mounted at 45 degrees.

The watch has four diagonally positioned escapements , that are connected in pairs by a series of differentials. These escapements average each other out theoretically – helping the watch to be more accurate. How accurate is neither an issue or concern as practicality is about as inherent to this watch as it is to the brand’s booth design. The concept works, and that is all that matters. Sound from the four escapements running in unison is a hallmark of the Quatuor. Roger Dubuis haphazardly calls it a 16Hz watch. That seems to imply that by adding four 4Hz escapements together you equal 16Hz. I am not sure it works that way.

Set in the Roger Dubuis Excalibur case, the Quatuor is large at 48mm wide. Its complex movement forces the watch to be thick, but in reality it is just as insane as your average neighborhood Roger Dubuis skeleton double tourbillon watch. The movement is strikingly symmetrical and beautiful in its design. According to a Roger Dubuis watch maker, it takes a full 2-3 days to merely assemble the movement. Something like 2,400 hours are needed to build the watch from start to finish.

This apartment occupies the top three floors of the building, it is 500 sq. meters and additional 200 sq.m in terraces.The one of a kind 360 degree breathtaking view of the city, the contemporary design, unique furniture and fixing makes this apartment real piece of art.Although the design is futuristic, it has some art deco elements, and 1960s style.The wooden floors and walls create a warm environment most furnishings were designed specifically for the unusual spaces within the residence. The onyx bathtub, office desk and dining and kitchen tables in particular are the designs of the architect.

The apartment’s highlight is the 10-meter-high central “palm” made of onyx and back lit to create a one-of-akind backdrop in an already spectacular lounge space on the top level. The design catered to the clients desire to provide an environment for formal entertaining as well as private relaxation. All of the curved wall surfaces are wood veneers (either painted or high gloss Makassar ebony) with Wengé wood flooring. The master bath has an onyx floor and the observatory a leather floor cut in radial patterns. We custom designed several objects for the project to give it a signature feel. Included are dining and breakfast tables, bed, coffee table guest room, bath tub and office desk.

The ignition keys will also be available in either gold or platinum.

 

The LykanHypersport 2013 is the brainchild of Beirut-born car designer Ralph Debbas, who is the lead investor, chairman and chief operating officer of W Motors. Debbas made several concepts  for luxury car brands as Land Rover and Aston Martin before starting W Motors in 2006.Beirut isn’t normally associated with fast cars, but with 750 hp and a claimed 390 kph (239 mph) top speed, the LykanHypersport looks like a contender.The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 2.8 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 390 kph. Debbas declined to specify the wholesale production costs, but with 100 employees needed to assemble each vehicle, the initial investment “was no joke.”

The seven models of the LykanHypersport 2013 will not be made in the Middle East either, but Debbas said W Motors is moving its production facilities from Torino, Italy, to Abu Dhabi and Qatar
